About Me

Born in Hollister, California, Atley Bartholf has always been curious about how things work. In high school, that curiosity drew him to music: he learned to play guitar, performed in several bands, and began experimenting with recording. What started as an interest in making music grew into a broader desire to understand sound, technology, and the systems behind the creative process.

Atley went on to study at Ex’pression College, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sound Arts. After college, he worked with artists and musicians on projects ranging from tracking through mixing and mastering. His early studio work included collaborating with VK Records in Vallejo on Michael Nelson’s Nikao album.

His career later expanded into technical sales and leadership. Atley spent several years with Guitar Center as a sales and training manager before joining AVMS as a sales manager, where he was later promoted to director. These positions gave him experience working with clients, developing teams, planning technical solutions, and managing the larger needs behind a production.

After leaving AVMS, Atley moved into freelance live-event production. His work has since included corporate events, broadcasts, livestreams, and multi-day productions around the country and internationally. His background includes production-specialist work for Zoom Video Conferencing and production management and lead engineering with Kinetic Audio Technology.

Today, Atley is available for hire as a Production Manager, Technical Director, A1/A2, RF Coordinator, and Comms Technician. He is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and travels for productions when the work is a good fit.

Atley’s curiosity extends well beyond his professional work. He is a builder and tinkerer who enjoys software development, ham radio, electronics, 3D printing, and building and flying drones. He is also an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys cooking, camping, fishing, hunting, backpacking, and spending time with family and friends.

Whether he is troubleshooting a production system, experimenting with radio, building a drone, or developing a new piece of software, Atley is drawn to learning how things work and finding practical ways to make them better. That curiosity has led to products and projects including StrikeNote, Anchor, DualTime, and AtleyOS.
