Atley LLC ("Atley," "we," "us," or "our") builds practical software for real-world workflows. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit atley.llc, create or manage an Atley account, contact us, or use an Atley product or service, including StrikeNote, Anchor, DualTime, and AtleyOS (collectively, the "Services").
Different Atley products work differently. Some are designed to keep most or all of your content on your device or on systems you control. Others may offer optional accounts, cloud backups, synchronization, diagnostics, or connected services. This policy describes those differences below.
1. Our privacy approach
Atley designs its products around a few basic principles:
- We collect only the information reasonably needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the Services you choose to use.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your personal content to build advertising profiles or serve targeted advertising.
- Content stored only on your device or on a system you control is not accessible to Atley unless you deliberately send it to us or use a feature that transmits it.
- This policy and any relevant in-product notices describe optional cloud, AI, analytics, and diagnostic features so you can make an informed choice before using them.
2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on the Service and features you use.
Information you provide directly
We may collect:
- Account information, such as your email address, profile information, authentication details, and account preferences.
- Support and contact information, including your name, email address, and the contents of messages, forms, bug reports, or other communications you send us.
- User content that you choose to transmit, such as notes, journal entries, gig information, documents, attachments, backups, or other content submitted through an optional cloud, synchronization, support, sharing, or AI-enabled feature.
- Purchase and subscription information, such as product entitlement, transaction status, and limited receipt information. Payments made through Apple or Google are processed by those platforms; Atley does not receive your complete payment-card information from them.
Information collected when you use online features
When you visit our website or use a Service that communicates with our systems, we or our service providers may receive:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- browser, device, and operating-system information;
- access times, requested pages or endpoints, referring URLs, and similar server logs;
- account, session, and security events; and
- crash reports, performance information, or feature-use data when the applicable Service collects diagnostics or analytics.
We do not collect every category above in every product. A product that operates entirely on your device may transmit little or no usage information to Atley.
Information stored locally
Some Atley products are local-first. Information stored only on your device remains under your control and is not collected by Atley merely because you enter it into the app. Local information may be included in your device backups depending on your operating-system and backup settings.
3. How individual Atley products handle data
Feature availability may differ by platform, version, and user settings.
StrikeNote
StrikeNote is designed to keep your work records—such as gigs, clients, schedules, timecards, notes, expenses, contacts, documents, and invoices—on your device by default. If you enable an optional account, cloud backup, synchronization, sharing, or agent-access feature, the information needed for that feature may be transmitted to the systems identified in the app.
Anchor
Anchor is designed as a private, local-first journal. Entries stored only on your device are not accessible to Atley. If you enable cloud backup, synchronization, or an AI-assisted feature, the content you choose to process may be transmitted as necessary to provide that feature.
DualTime
DualTime is designed to provide time-display and widget functionality and generally does not require an Atley account or the submission of personal content. The app may still receive limited technical information if diagnostics or store-provided reporting is enabled.
AtleyOS
AtleyOS is designed to run locally or on infrastructure controlled by its owner. Atley does not receive information processed solely within your self-hosted AtleyOS installation. If you deliberately connect AtleyOS to an Atley-hosted or third-party service, information is transmitted according to the feature you enable and the settings you choose.
Atley Account and website
If you create an Atley account, we process the information needed to authenticate you, maintain your profile, secure active sessions or devices, provide connected features, and respond to account requests. When you visit our website, ordinary hosting and security logs may be generated. Information submitted through a contact form or email is used to respond to you and maintain appropriate business records.
4. AI and connected services
Some Services may offer optional AI-assisted or third-party-connected features. When you deliberately use one of these features, the information required to fulfill your request may be sent to the provider identified by the feature. That provider may process the information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Atley does not use private journal entries, production notes, documents, or other personal content to train generalized AI models. We also do not transmit local content to an AI provider merely because it exists in an Atley product.
You should avoid submitting information to a connected service if you do not want that provider to process it.
5. How we use information
We may use personal information to:
- provide, maintain, and operate the Services;
- create and secure accounts, sessions, backups, and synchronized data;
- complete purchases and confirm product access;
- provide support and respond to inquiries;
- send essential account, security, transaction, and service communications;
- diagnose errors and improve reliability, usability, and performance;
- protect users, Atley, and the Services from fraud, abuse, security threats, or unlawful activity;
- enforce our agreements and policies; and
- comply with legal obligations.
Where required by law, we rely on an appropriate legal basis for processing, such as performing a contract with you, complying with law, protecting legitimate interests, or obtaining your consent.
6. How we disclose information
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers. We use vendors that help provide functions such as hosting, authentication, storage, security, email delivery, customer support, analytics, diagnostics, and payment processing. They may process information only as needed to perform services for us and subject to their contractual obligations.
- Services you choose to connect. When you enable an AI provider, integration, sharing destination, or other connected service, we disclose the information needed to perform your request.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law or valid legal process; protect the rights, safety, or security of users, Atley, or others; or detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- Business changes. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of Atley's business. Where required, we will provide notice before personal information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
- With your direction or consent. We may disclose information when you ask us to or otherwise give permission.
We may use and disclose information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably identify you, subject to applicable law.
7. Cookies and analytics
Our website and online Services may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, preferences, security, and basic operation. We may also use limited analytics or diagnostics to understand performance and improve the Services.
Atley does not use this information for third-party behavioral advertising. Where required, we will request consent before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
8. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to provide the Services, maintain security, comply with legal and financial obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Retention depends on the type of information:
- Local content remains on your device or self-hosted system until you delete it, reset the app, remove the relevant storage, or uninstall the product. Copies may remain in backups that you control.
- Account and cloud content is generally retained while your account or the relevant feature remains active.
- Support communications, security records, and transaction records may be retained when reasonably necessary for legitimate business, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, or legal purposes.
- Backup copies may remain for a limited period after deletion before being overwritten through normal backup rotation.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it, de-identify it, or securely isolate it until deletion is possible.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- access or obtain a copy of personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete personal information or your account;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- receive certain information in a portable format; and
- appeal our response to a privacy request, where applicable.
You can manage certain information and settings directly in the applicable Service. To submit a privacy request, email support@atley.llc. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
We will respond within the period required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
10. Account and data deletion
If a Service allows you to create an account, you may initiate account deletion through the account settings provided in the app or at atley.llc/account. You may also request deletion by emailing support@atley.llc.
Deleting an Atley account deletes or de-identifies the personal information associated with that account from Atley's active systems, except for information we must retain for legitimate security, fraud-prevention, transaction-record, or legal reasons. Deletion is generally completed within 30 days, although limited residual copies may remain temporarily in protected backups.
Deleting your account may not delete information stored only on your device, in device backups, on a self-hosted system, or with a third-party service you connected. You must delete those copies through the applicable device, system, backup provider, or third party.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Depending on the Service, these safeguards may include encryption in transit, encryption at rest, access controls, authentication protections, logging, and data minimization.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your devices, account credentials, recovery methods, self-hosted systems, and any backups or integrations you control.
12. International data transfers
Atley is based in the United States. If you use the Services from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where Atley or its service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.
13. Children's privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child below the applicable minimum age without valid parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of this section, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
14. Third-party services and links
The Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites, platforms, applications, or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review those policies before using a third-party service or sending information to it.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our products, practices, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate or legally required.
